Modjoule Awarded Place on Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) TechX Clean Energy Accelerator

February 2024By Will Etheridge

Modjoule has been selected to join the NZTC’s TechX Clean Energy Accelerator, securing non-dilutive grant funding and access to a globally respected clean-energy support programme.

TechX is an intensive accelerator aimed at startups developing net-zero energy solutions at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 3–6. As part of the 2024 cohort, Modjoule becomes one of 12 selected companies benefiting from the programme’s full package of resources: grant funding (up to £100,000), expert technical and commercial mentorship, access to NZTC’s extensive industry network — including major energy and industrial operators — and opportunities to secure field-trials and customer engagement.

Over 14 weeks, TechX guides startups through business model refinement, prototype and pilot development, investor readiness, and stakeholder engagement. After the main accelerator phase, graduated companies also receive up to two years of growth support, including access to co-working space and ongoing advisory networks.

For Modjoule, securing a place in TechX represents major validation of our concept and an opportunity to accelerate the commercial maturation of our zero-emission power systems for the landside cold chain. The combination of funding, technical mentorship, and the NZTC’s deep industry links significantly lowers the barrier to early deployments — and provides a pathway toward scalable commercial adoption across logistics, ports and cold-chain infrastructure.
